2016 NBA Summer League: Suns run ends with 93-83 loss to Minnesota

Summer's over.

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

With first round draft picks Dragan Bender and Marquese Chriss unable to play, the Phoenix Suns Summer season came to an end Sunday with a 93-83 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the tournament semifinals.

Troy Williams contributed another impressive scoring performance for Suns, leading Phoenix with 24 points. Askia Booker was the only other Suns to score in double figures, chipping in 19.

A day after his last second three pointer eliminated the Denver Nuggets, Tyler Ulis struggled mightily from the field. He connected on just 5 of his 21 shot attempts and finished with 11 points.

Minnesota was led by Tyus Jones who led all scorers with 29 points. Adreian Payne pulled down a game high 10 rebounds. Four Timberwolves scored in double figures.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will play either the Chicago Bulls or Cleveland Cavaliers in tomorrow's NBA Summer League championship game. The Suns conclude Summer League play with a 4-2 record.
