Devin Booker questions foreigners being drafted ahead of Tyler Ulis

Ulis was drafted 34th overall.

Thursday on the Burns and Gambo Show in Phoenix, Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker spoke about singing the praises of his best friend and 2016 NBA Draft pick Tyler Ulis to his teammates last season.

"I've been talking about him all year. When the games are on, when we're in the locker room, I'm like ‘everybody tune in.' Watch my man play. I think he proved himself this year."

Ulis, a point guard out of the University of Kentucky, was drafted by the Suns in the 34th overall in last month's draft. Booker was surprised that Ulis was drafted so late.

"I thought he should've went earlier in the draft. I'm sure a lot of other people think that. If you watch the draft this year there's a lot of people from overseas that I've never heard of, and I don't understand when people make those draft picks when they're not coming over for another three years."

The two will see their first action together as professional teammates this weekend when the Suns meet the Portland Trail Blazers Saturday in the 2016 NBA Summer League.
