The Phoenix Suns announced two additions to their basketball staff on Tuesday morning. Former NBA player Mehmet Okur joins the team as player development coach, and Jason Hervey has been named an advance scout.

Okur joins the Suns after an NBA career that has spanned 10 years and included stints with the Detroit Pistons, Utah Jazz, and New Jersey Nets. Okur was named an NBA All-Star in 2007 while with the Jazz, where he spent 7 seasons. He is the first native of Turkey to be named to an NBA All-Star team. Citing injuries, Okur retired from professional basketball in 2012.

Hervey has spent the prior two seasons working as an NBA and college personnel scout with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He’s worked in the NBA since 2005, and has also spent time with the Washington Wizards as an advance scout and video coordinator, and with the Detroit Pistons as an assistant video coordinator.
