You should already be excited about the direction your Phoenix Suns are heading, but if it helps, ESPN’s Chad Ford thinks the future is promising after the 2016 offseason.
Ford graded the Phoenix moves this summer as a “B-plus.” He points out the 2016 NBA Draft, and the Suns’ collection of young talent, though I don’t know how “quietly” it was done.
“The Suns have quietly amassed a talented group of young prospects. It’s going to take them another year or two to figure out how to win basketball games, but the decision to go young should pay off in the long run and the addition of Bender and Chriss add to my bullishness on their future.”
Free agency included the savvy move of bringing back established veterans and fan favorites in Jared Dudley and Leandro Barbosa.
“Dudley and Barbosa provide veteran leadership in the locker room, though if the Suns are smart, it will primarily come from their influence off the court, not on it.”
Fans will get their first chance to see the new and improved Phoenix lineup on October 26th when the Suns welcome the Sacramento Kings to Talking Stick Resort Arena.
