NBA: San Antonio Spurs vs Dallas Mavericks EFE-USA TODAY Sports

Is... is it possible the Phoenix Suns are playing juuuust a little bit better in 2017? They are 3-3 in the new year with a nice win against the San Antonio Spurs and a close game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ping pong balls aside, it would be pretty great to see the team continue to improve over their remaining 40ish games.

In other news...

  • Hidden Figures has taken over for Rogue One at the box office. America loves its space movies!
  • What’s everyone watching on the teevee? I just finished Westworld and am working on Insecure (which I started watching on an overnight international flight and had to stifle my laughter at).
  • Football Final Four: Who you got? The Green Bay Packers travel to the Atlanta Falcons for the NFC title. Meanwhile the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the New England Patriots for what feels like the 17th time for the AFC title.
  • More NBA: Bringing the ping-pong balls back into focus, the Suns are tied for the 4th pick overall right now. It’s unlikely they slide catch the Brooklyn Nets/Boston Celtics, but I could see them finishing anywhere between 3rd and 10th. Is anywhere in the top 10 workable or do the Suns need to make some moves to insure a top 5 pick?
