The Suns will host a memorial service for legendary power forward Connie Hawkins on Friday. Hawkins played with the Suns from 1969-1973. He passed away October 6th at the age of 75.

“The Hawk” is on the shortlist of greatest Suns of all-time. His professional career included time with the Harlem Globetrotters as well as the Pittsburgh Rens (later the Minnesota Pipers) of the ABA before he landed in Phoenix in 1969.
While with the Suns Hawkins was named to four All-Star teams. He was a member of the inaugural class of the Suns Ring of Honor and was elected to the NBA Hall of Fame in 1992. His number 42 was retired by the Suns. Hawkins also played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks.
Friday’s service will be held at Talking Stick Resort Arena. The ceremony will begin at 12:30pm and is free for the public to attend. Arena doors will open at noon.
