Open Gamethread: Suns host Lakers at 7:00pm

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Phoenix Suns Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Phoenix Suns try to put their ugly opening-night loss behind them, face the Los Angeles Lakers at Talking Stick Resort Arena at 7:00 PM tonight.

Lonzo Ball vs. Eric Bledsoe

Devin Booker vs. Brandon Ingram (starting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is suspended for this game)

Josh Jackson vs. Luol Deng (but mostly Brandon Ingram I’d guess)

T.J. Warren vs. Larry Nance Jr.

Tyson Chandler vs. Brook Lopez

“Thursday, we had a long video session,” Watson said with a laugh, about what he did with the team a day after losing by 48 points. “A lot of transparency.”

On Marquese Chriss being very disappointed in coming off the bench after starting for 75 games as a rookie, “He’s not supposed to be happy.”

Said he took Quese to dinner and they’re good now after asking him, “You hated me yesterday didn’t you?” and Quese admitted, “A little.”

Watson, about how he worked the team back into a good frame of mind: “I had to find the light. You can’t let them sit in darkness.”

“I have to do a better job of protecting them from distractions,” he said, of such a young team having influences on and off the court that take their mind out of the game.

The Suns are tied with the Chicago Bulls for the youngest rosters in the NBA.

The Lakers are right behind.
