The Phoenix Suns fell to the Utah Jazz in a preseason game last night. The Jazz won despite having traded away promising young forward Trey Lyles to Denver during the offseason as part of the deal to get rookie Donovan Mitchell.
The game was pretty sloppy all around, but once again Alex Len made his presence felt with a strong 18 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks in 32 (+1) minutes off the bench while Troy Daniels poured in another 18 points while draining 5 more threes in only 21 minutes. This guy is fire! Tyler Ulis contributed 14 points and 6 assists, but he and Daniels were both big negatives on the scoreboard for the game.
Let’s just say the Suns starters have kept a low profile these first two games, letting the bench guys get all the kudos before the regular games start. Yeah, that’s it.
Here’s the highlights.
