What a home stretch for the Phoenix Suns, beginning with their game Monday night against the Brooklyn Nets.
Over the next 18 days, the Suns play nine home games with only one roadie in there, against the Lakers.
How many of these games could the Watson-less, Bledsoe-less Suns win?
Monday, vs. D’Angelo Russell’s Brooklyn Nets: the Nets will surely want revenge for their surprising loss last week to the Suns. And, the Suns will want to wash off the stink of their last two road losses.
Wednesday, vs. Goran Dragic’s Heat: the Heat have been bad this year, but it’s Gogi time and he’s always up for a big game against his former team. His whole Heat team seem to take the Suns personally.
Friday, vs. Aaron Gordon’s Magic: somehow, the Magic are setting the Eastern Conference on its ear early this season. Aaron Gordon is playing like an All-Star, and everyone is shooting lights on.
Saturday, vs. KAT’s Wolves: Booker’s other best friend, Karl-Anthony Towns, comes to the valley as his Wolves try to fulfill their big-win prophesies without playing any defense.
Next Monday, vs. Lonzo Ball’s Lakers: Here we go again. Will the future be defenseless? Or will these two teams show they really do play defense since that 132-130 Laker win in opening week? The Suns will really want to exorcise their demons in this game.
Next Thursday, vs. James Harden’s Rockets: Or is it Mike D’Antoni’s Rockets? Either way, you can almost certainly chalk this TNT game up to a loss, and likely one more chance for Charles Barkley to make fun of the nachos.
Next Friday, in LA: My guess is whoever wins on Monday will lose on Friday. Tough to sweep a pair of really close-together games.
Sunday, November 19 vs. the baby Bulls: no longer Bright Side Night. We’ve moved it to January to get more ticket sales and lower ticket prices. More details to come. Regarding this game, it should be a game the Suns can win. The Bulls are really, really, really bad.
Wednesday, November 22 vs. the Greek Freak’s Bucks: Will Eric Bledsoe be coming home for this game? Will he have been traded to the Bucks yet? Who knows. All that matters is Giannis. And he will carry the Bucks to a win, almost certainly.
Friday, Nov, 24 vs. Boogie and AD’s Pelicans: The Suns and Pelicans always play a competitive game. Expect this one to be close.
Here’s my prediction
Monday, vs. Brooklyn Nets: W
Wednesday, vs. Miami Heat: L
Friday, vs. Orlando Magic: L
Saturday, vs. Minnesota Timberwolves: L
Next Monday, vs. Lonzageles Lakers: W
Next Thursday, vs. Houston Rockets: L
Next Friday, at Lakers: L
Sunday, November 19 vs. Chicago Bulls: W
Wednesday, November 22 vs. Milwaukee Bucks: L
Friday, Nov, 24 vs. New Orleans Pelicans: W
That’s a 4-6 record over 10 games, by my count.
