Don’t be that guy. Be better than that guy.

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Phoenix Suns Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

We are one month away from the third annual Bright Side Night — Suns vs. Pacers, January 14 — and ticket sales are creepy, crawly slow.

I don’t ask you for anything else. I give you new Suns news every single day, 365 days a year, in more than one format. There’s video. There’s audio. There’s long form detailed, research-heavy analysis. There’s hot takes. There’s jokes. There’s short news hits.

From the top of my heart, I thank all those who’ve donated so far. You’ve done the right thing, and I can’t wait to meet some of you in January.

But we contributors are too few in number.

Don’t be that guy. Don’t be that lazy guy who momentarily thinks “yeah I should probably do that, but... well... ehh... my wallet’s all the way across the room...”

Be better than that guy.

It’s only $9 per ticket. Buy one. Buy two. Buy ten. Buy 100.

Donate now:

After two months of sales and a drop in price per ticket to just $9 each, we still sit at just over 400 tickets donated to underprivileged kids to attend their first NBA game. 800 short of the seats the Suns have reserved for us because that’s how many we sold last year.

You know the drill.

You know what this is about.

It’s about giving a struggling kid something great to remember for the REST OF THEIR LIVES.

You yourself remember that first pro game in a huge stadium/arena, don’t you? You’ll never forget the feeling of sitting among thousands of brethren rooting for the same team.

And if you’ve never gone to a game, you KNOW you wish you could. You KNOW you'd love to go a game with your friends.

So why aren’t you donating a measly $9.00?

Remember that if you buy 10 tickets for a mere $90, YOU GET YOUR OWN PAIR OF TICKETS TOO.

Stop waiting. Buy now.

Last year you sent 1,200 kids to a game. The year before it was 800. Let’s not embarrass ourselves here.

You come here every day for free to immerse yourselves in Suns news.

All I ask is a few bucks once a year TO MAKE A KID’S YEAR. I don’t want the money for myself. I don’t need it. I donate more tickets MYSELF to this thing than almost anyone else.

Step up! Do it for me. Do it for the other writers on this blog who also donate to more to Bright Side Night than they’ve ever gotten back.

Do it for the kids. Do it for yourself. Trust me, you’ll be happy you did.

It takes literally two minutes (unless you lost your wallet or something).

It’s not even a totally selfless act! You get stuff too, for chrissakes.

Don’t tell yourself you’ll come back later. Just do it now.

Thank you.
