Report: Brandon Knight refused to play against Kings

Shades of Scottie?

NBA: Phoenix Suns at Memphis Grizzlies Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

Brandon Knight is not particularly well liked by Phoenix Suns fans. This story probably isn’t going to help. Or maybe it does if you’d just as soon not see him on the court anyway.

John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 is reporting that Knight gave the Suns his best Scottie Pippen impression on Wednesday evening, refusing to take the court when Phoenix hosted the Sacramento Kings.

Reportedly, Phoenix guard Eric Bledsoe was told before the game that he would be shut down for the remainder of the 2016-17 season. Knight then received the news that he’d be playing increased minutes. Before the game he was scratched due to “back spasms.”

Yikes. Is anyone buying the back spasms? To be fair, the guy hadn’t seen the court in over a month. Either way, this is certainly not going to attract trade suitors, as Knight’s time in Phoenix continues to be a disappointment.

The Suns host Orlando on Friday.
