Well people are talking. Any casual NBA fan who was unfamiliar with Devin Booker before Friday night surely knows his name now.
The Phoenix Suns guard racked up an astonishing 70 points in a 130-120 loss to the Boston Celtics. There were mixed emotions following his gigantic effort. Jae Crowder of the Celtics was especially displeased. Booker took care of Crowder’s concerns in short order.
Some of Booker’s teammates felt they needed to take to social media to defend the 20 year-old. Others were simply celebratory. Some of the biggest names in the Association decided that they needed to share a few words about the night Devin Booker shattered the Phoenix Suns single game scoring record.
All u ppl hating can't even score 70 on 2k. Let's appreciate that we were all able to witness that! @DevinBook

The Celtics grabbed a win over the Suns, but they didn’t walk out of TD Garden in the greatest of moods after Devin Booker's 70-point night. pic.twitter.com/WJxGnnfqeM

And Booker’s performance was so legendary, that it was actually mentioned by his former college coach immediately following Kentucky’s victory over UCLA in the Sweet Sixteen.
John Calipari thinks Devin Booker's 70-point performance will overshadow Kentucky's win vs UCLA. #BBN #WeArePHX #MarchMadness pic.twitter.com/a4rCKuo7fB
