Report: Suns could scrimmage Final Four losers, answer age old question

On Sunday, instead of a team shoot around, the Phoenix Suns could scrimmage against the Final Four losers today of the NCAA Tournament in an “open gym” format, likely at Jerry Colangelo’s Grand Canyon University.

Why?

Because the Suns, losers of 10 straight games, are actually younger than all four teams remaining in March Madness and everyone wants to finally find out if a great college team CAN beat an NBA team.

The Phoenix Suns will reportedly field a starting lineup averaging 20.3 years old with Dragan Bender and Derrick Jones Jr. starting alongside Marquese Chriss, Devin Booker and Tyler Ulis.

Heck, the Suns could start Thursday’s lineup against the Clippers with Alex Len and T.J. Warren in place of Bender/Jones and STILL be just over 21.5 years old.

All of the Final Four remaining teams have older starting lineups than this Suns team.

Gonzaga’s starting lineup is 22.5 years old, North Carolina is just over 22 and Oregon is just under of 22 years old. South Carolina are the pups of the Final Four at 21.5 years old.

The Final Four is being held in Phoenix this weekend, with Thursday night festivities such as the Three-Point Shootout and Dunk contest at GCU while the games themselves take place at University of Phoenix stadium.

The final details of this scrimmage are still being worked out, and an official announcement will likely be shared on social media in a grass roots marketing effort.
