Devin Booker brings his luck to NBA Draft Lottery for Phoenix Suns

NBA: NBA Draft Lottery Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

For the second year in a row, Devin Booker will be the face of the Phoenix Suns franchise on draft lottery night, May 16, 2017.

Last year

This is Booker’s second time repping the Suns.

Last year, Booker oversaw the Suns lotto ball selection party where they started with two picks, #4 and #13 in total lotto combinations, and held serve with both to stay at #4 overall, eventually resulting in the drafting of Dragan Bender, and #13 overall which was traded on draft night for Marquese Chriss.

This year, Booker hopes to at least make sure the Suns stay at #2 where they begin, if not jump all the way up to #1 overall.

The Suns have a 19.9% chance to win the #1 overall pick, and a 55.8% chance to stay in the Top 3. They can conceivably drop all the way to #5 overall if three other teams in the 14-team lottery jump ahead of the Suns.

Overall chances

  • #1 overall: 19.9%
  • #2 overall: 18.8%
  • #3 overall: 17.1%
  • #4 overall: 31.9%
  • #5 overall: 12.4%
