Bad news, as you expected.

It’s the first, biggest night of the NBA offseason for your Phoenix Suns. And the evening’s events were nothing short of disappointing, per usual.

That’s right Phoenix faithful. Your Suns have been awarded the number four pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. You didn’t think they’d be permitted to pick higher than that, did you?

Of course that means we want only bad things for everybody else. Here’s complete look at how the NBA Draft Lottery shook out on Tuesday night.

1. Boston Celtics

2. Los Angeles Lakers

3. Philadelphia 76ers

4. Phoenix Suns

5. Sacramento Kings

6. Orlando Magic

7. Minnesota Timberwolves

8. New York Knicks

9. Dallas Mavericks

10. Sacramento Kings

11. Charlotte Hornets

12. Detroit Pistons

13. Denver Nuggets

14. Miami Heat

Phoenix entered the NBA Draft Lottery with a 19.9% chance of landing the top overall pick. At 25% Brooklyn had the best odds, with that pick going to Boston. Los Angeles was third at 15.6%.

The Suns have twice drafted from the number two position, never higher. In 1969 Phoenix used that pick on Neal Walk out of Florida. In 1987 they selected UNLV’s Armon Gilliam.

Phoenix has no other first round picks in 2017. In the second round they hold the #32 and #54 overall picks.

The 2017 NBA Draft will be held June 22nd at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The festivities are scheduled to begin at 7p ET.
