Lonzo Ball unsure on working out for Suns

Lakers have him scheduled for the first week in June.

Finally, more Lonzo Ball news.

This week it was reported that the UCLA product will be blessing the Los Angeles Lakers with an official workout. June 7th. Plan accordingly.

Not every team is so lucky. Last week Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge stated that his efforts to have Ball in for a pre-draft workout were rejected by the sure-fire lottery pick.

"We don't deal with [Ball's camp] all that much. They didn't show up at the combine, which is very common -- many of the top 10 or 15 players don't show up for the combine. ... We just tried to get him in for a workout and they politely said no."

What has not yet been revealed is if Ball will work out for the Philadelphia 76ers who holds the number three overall pick, or the Phoenix Suns who will select at number four.

Tania Ganguli, Lakers beat writer for the Los Angeles Times, reports that the possibility of those workouts are still being kicked around the Ball camp.

With so many signs pointing towards Lonzo being the Lakers pick, is it possible that he would work out for Philly or Phoenix? Sure. But LaVar Ball, Lonzo’s father, stresses “staying in your lane.” So it seems unlikely that a man so planned would reverse course from what he stated in earlier this month.

Los Angeles president of basketball operations Magic Johnson has already stated that Lonzo reminds him of Magic Johnson and also that LaVar reminds him of Kris Jenner. So obviously any basketball fan knows that means he’s likely to become a Laker.

Let’s say Ball’s workout with LA goes poorly, Magic decides LaVar is more like Khloe than Kris, and Lonzo is around at number four after a dynamite workout in Phoenix. Do you want Lonzo on the Suns? Bonus points for adding in the comment section that you’re tired of that discussion.
