Gonzaga big man Zach Collins winds up with the final spot on our Fans Pick Big Board. Collins could be a good pickup for the Suns if they can somehow finagle another lottery pick.

Today is draft day and all the speculation on who will be drafted - and when - will finally be put to rest. No matter who your favorite prospect for the Suns to pick is I think that it will be extremely difficult for Ryan McDonough and company to make a bad choice at #4 with draft class so full of talent.
If things turn out as many predict, then the odds are good that the Bright Side Fans Pick for #2 (Josh Jackson) on our big board will be available when the Suns draft at #4. Selecting Jackson (if he is still available) won't make everyone happy but by the poll numbers he has a lot of fans here and he should make a very good addition to the team.
But we must face the fact that Ryan McDonough isn't polling fans to decide who he is going to pick in the draft. He's given us only generalized talk about his plan for the Suns so it's easy for fans to speculate on whether this or that player will fit into that plan. And he's certainly been coy about who he might select in this year's draft, pretty much saying that he's going to take the proverbial ‘best player available’ and going as far to say that it's not out of the question that the Suns will draft someone that didn't work out for them. And we can only guess at just who McD will think is the BPA until the Suns’ choices are announced.
All that is kind of frustrating for fans but I like that he keeps a very tight lid on his plans. It keeps us guessing but it keeps the other 29 NBA GMs guessing too.
But this should be an interesting draft day from top to bottom as the Suns also have two second round draft picks, #32 and #54. Drafting as far down as #54 is basically the same as betting on long-shots but sometimes long-shots pay off. And in a draft as deep as this one the 32nd pick could turn out to be at least a solid role player off the bench.
Which brings us to...
Bright Side Fans Pick NBA Draft Big Board Part 2
26. Bam Adebayo
27. Jordan Bell
28. Tony Bradley
29. Ivan Rabb
30. Derrick White
31. Isaiah Hartenstein
32. Terrance Ferguson
33. Josh Hart
34. Caleb Swanigan
The choice for #34, sophomore Caleb Swanigan out of Purdue, is a prospect that kind of makes me think of Alan Williams... but with a three point shot. He's a little taller (6'9") and a little lighter (247 lbs) but otherwise not too different in build. He uses his size and strength to get position inside both to score and get rebounds. He lacks athleticism but has a good BBIQ that helps make up for his athletic shortcomings... as does his 7'3" wingspan. Without much of a vertical leap (29 inches), his defense is questionable at the NBA level but he did improve his perimeter shooting and connected on 44.7% of his three point attempts this season which should make him a more attractive choice for some NBA team looking to add some potential frontcourt depth.
Those are your choices, Suns fans. Thanks to everyone who voted and made this an interesting experience.
