Will tonight be the night Eric Bledsoe is shipped off from the Valley? Minutes before the 2017 NBA Draft begins, he’s popped up in trade discussions for another draft pick, according to ESPN’s Chris Haynes.
Haynes is reporting that framework of a deal has been revolving around a Bledsoe for Emmanuel Mudiay and No. 13 swap.
Acquiring Mudiay, who’s 21 years old, better fits in the rebuild timeline but he had a dismal shooting year. The 6’5 guard played 55 games last season and shot only 37.8%, while barely eclipsing 30-percent from beyond the arc at 31.5%. This would be the time to buy low on Mudiay, though, if the Suns are indeed interested.
Adding in another late lottery pick could land Phoenix someone along the lines of Zach Collins, OG Anunoby or Frank Ntilikina to groom as the future point guard.
Expect an active draft night for not only Phoenix but most of the NBA.
