Joining Tyler Ulis (ankle) and draft pick Alec Peters (foot) on the injured list for extremities, the Phoenix Suns announced today that Jared Dudley had surgery on his big toe last week.

Phoenix Suns forward Jared Dudley underwent a left toe ligament and bone procedure last Friday. The surgery was performed by Dr. David Porter at Methodist Sports Medicine in Indianapolis. Dudley is expected to return to full basketball activity in approximately 3-4 months.

The four-month timeline would put Dudley’s return to basketball at the end of October, which would mean he misses training camp and preseason.

Dudley talked about it a bit on twitter today.

The Suns probably could have sent out the notification earlier, as dozens of kids got to see him on his wheel-around thingamajig this week.

Local radio host John Gambadoro heard a potential trade rumor last week that the Pelicans (with Alvin Gentry Dudley’s former coach) were looking to acquire Dudley for a pair of second round picks.

But that trade never went through. Maybe this was his no-trade clause?

Probably not, but it was nice to get the comeback from Jared anyway!

So Dudley will be a Phoenix Suns forward next year and I for one am glad for that.

Dudley is awesome to have in the locker room, on the court and representing the Phoenix Suns.
