It appears a familiar face will be rejoining the Phoenix Suns in 2017. According to veteran overseas basketball writer David Pick, guard Mike James will begin his NBA journey with Phoenix.

Notably, there is no mention of this being merely a Summer League deal. James and the Suns cannot enter into a contract until July, but he might be taking one of the team’s new two-way roster spots, splitting time between the G-League and big club in 2017-18. The exact details should become clearer as free agency begins next week.
For those who don’t remember, James was one of the best stories to come out of the 2015 Summer League for the Suns. He was a late addition to the Summer Suns that year because of FIBA issues but improved every game before scoring 32 points against the San Antonio Spurs’ Summer League team in the Summer League Championship.
James spent the last few years playing in Europe, last suiting up for Panathinaikos in Greece.
