Sure to conjure up memories of Elliot Perry and Evansville, Indiana native Calbert Cheaney, the Suns and Bullets will be meeting for a historic matchup in Phoenix on October 13th.
That’s the Brisbane Bullets. Of the National Basketball League. Still pretty cool.

Three NBL teams will meet NBA competition in preseason play. Along with the Suns and Bullets, Oklahoma City will host Melbourne United on October 2nd and the Utah Jazz will meet the Sydney Kings on October 3rd.
The NBL is an eight team league that plays its season between October and February. In late February and March the top four teams advance to the postseason.
The Bullets finished in the basement of the NBL last year, so if nothing else they’re kindred spirits with the Suns. Sydney was second from the bottom, Melbourne third.
Brisbane’s regular season will have already begun when the Bullets make the trip to Arizona. They’ll face defending champion Perth on October 7th.
The three exhibition games will be formally announced Monday evening, Tuesday morning in Sydney.
