New threads for a new era that starts with starts with celebrating an old era. That’s your 2017-18 Phoenix Suns.
Nike has the uniform responsibilities this season and in July they announced that they were doing away with designating home and road jerseys. Instead each team will be provided four options, with the home team deciding which to wear and the opponent responding accordingly.
That is except for a lucky eight that will receive a fifth uni. Nike is calling it the “Classic” jersey, and the Suns are reported to be a part of that exclusive group.
EXCLUSIVE: List of the 8 teams wearing Classics + the eras of each team's uni. Here's 4 of my guesses. Full info https://t.co/O4J8ZwfIbN pic.twitter.com/MXiabbyFCa

Here are the eight teams reported to be sporting a “Classic” jersey this season, and the eras that will be represented.
- Atlanta Hawks (1972-76)
- Charlotte Hornets (1989-96)
- Golden State Warriors (1971-75)
- Indiana Pacers (Hickory Hoosiers fauxback)
- Los Angeles Lakers (1947-52)
- Miami Heat (1988-99)
- Milwaukee Bucks (1968-73)
- Phoenix Suns (1968-73)
What do you think? Is the 1968-73 iteration of the Suns jersey what you would like to see Kyrie Irving Devin Booker wearing to celebrate 50 years of Suns basketball?
If this is true, there has been no indicator if Nike is learning home or road for the throwback. Stay tuned.
