Suns sign Anthony Bennett to non-guaranteed deal

2013’s top pick gets another shot to make an NBA roster.

Anthony Bennett, a former No. 1 pick in 2013, has signed a non-guaranteed deal with the Phoenix Suns according to The Vertical’s Shams Charania.

Bennett has bounced around different organizations ever since he was involved in the Kevin Love trade with Minnesota after his rookie year. Once that went astray, Bennett then went to Toronto where he had three separate stints in the G-League before ultimately being released before the regular season ended. The former UNLV Rebel went on to get another chance, this time with Brooklyn, but ended up with the Long Island Nets before being waived in January.

In Europe, his most recent stop, he won the EuroLeague championship with Fenerbache (Turkish Basketball Super League) but was a non-factor averaging only 6 minutes per game and was released at season’s end.

This sounds to me like a training camp invite only, but it would not surprise me if he ends up in Prescott Valley with the NAZ Suns, granted that he shows any sort of flashes.
