Are you mad just reading that headline? HOW ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THIS ALREADY? WE’RE SIX GAMES INTO THE SEASON, THAT’S ABSURD. Well, we agree with you. But you can place a bet on Igor Kokoskov of the Phoenix Suns being the next NBA head coach let go, and the odds aren’t as long as you might think.
The fine people at BetDSI have Kokoskov at +2000 to be the second head coach fired this season. The first was Tyronn Lue, who was canned by the Cleveland Cavaliers this week.
JB Bickerstaff of the Memphis Grizzlies is also +2000. Only six head coaches are more likely to be fired next, as BetDSI sees it, led by Oklahoma City’s Billy Donovan at +150. Here’s the full list:
- Billy Donovan +150
- Tom Thibodeau +250
- Scott Brooks +500
- Fred Hoiberg +500
- Dave Joerger +1500
- Kenny Atkinson +1500
- Igor Kokoskov +2000
- JB Bickerstaff +2000
- Alvin Gentry +3000
- Terry Stotts +3000
- Larry Drew +3000
- Michael Malone +4000
- David Fizdale +4000
- James Borrego +4000
- Lloyd Pierce +4000
- Steve Clifford +4000
- Luke Walton +5000
- Brett Brown +5000
- Quin Snyder +5000
- Doc Rivers +5000
- Nate McMillan +5000
- Mike D’Antoni +5000
- Dwane Casey +7500
- Nick Nurse +7500
- Mike Budenholzer +7500
- Rick Carlisle +7500
- Brad Stevens +7500
- Erik Spoelstra +10000
- Steve Kerr +25000
- Gregg Popovich +25000
It’s silly, ain’t it? But with Phoenix Suns management, you never know.
If you looking for something a little more reasonable to keep your attention this season, you can get Devin Booker at +1200 to lead the league in points per game. Currently, he’s ninth at 27.8. Or you can go with Deandre Ayton leading the NBA in rebounds per game his rookie season. That’s +2800 and presently he’s 12th at 10.3 per contest.
Or you could just watch, though that may prove challenging. Good luck.
