This is Okobo’s first assignment to Prescott Valley. Through 11 games in Phoenix the 2018 No. 31 overall pick is averaging 6.0 points, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 rebounds in 15.1 minutes per game.
Tomorrow will tell whether Okobo will be reassigned to the NBA club in time for the Suns’ Wednesday home tilt against the San Antonio Spurs. Otherwise, fellow rookie De’Anthony Melton or veteran Jamal Crawford would be in line for a larger role. Crawford put together his best performance of the season Monday in Oklahoma City, scoring 13 points and keying a third-quarter run that put the game within eight points for the Suns.
The NAZ Suns are 1-3 on the season and play their next game Tuesday night at home against the Santa Cruz Warriors. Tip is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., with Okobo likely due for a heavy minutes load while he’s with the squad.
