Open Thread: Phoenix Suns (3-12) vs. Philadelphia 76ers (11-7)

This should be a fun one, folks.

NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder at Phoenix Suns Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Probable starters:

76ers - Ben Simmons, JJ Redick, Jimmy Butler, Wilson Chandler, Joel Embiid

Suns - Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges, Trevor Ariza*, T.J. Warren, Deandre Ayton

  • Ariza is supposed to return tonight from his personal matter, which begs the question what head coach Igor Kokoskov will do. Isaiah Canaan staying in the starting lineup, or not? Personally, I don’t think so, especially after Bridges’ strong play as of late.
  • Ayton vs. Embiid is going to be fun, but it might be a rude awakening for the Suns’ No. 1 overall pick. I expect Embiid to have his way, and Phoenix will have to stop everyone else in order to win. I’m thinking 40+ for Embiid tonight.
  • The other secondary matchups to follow are Booker vs. Simmons and Bridges vs. Butler. However those battles go will likely tell the story of how this game will fare for both sides. The last time Booker was in Philadelphia, he scorched the area on his way to dropping 46 points.
