Open Thread: Phoenix Suns (4-16) vs. Los Angeles Clippers (13-6)

We’re now a quarter of the way through this season. Will the Suns upend the resurgent Clippers without Devin Booker?

NBA: Indiana Pacers at Phoenix Suns Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Probable starters:

Suns - Elie Okobo, Mikal Bridges, Josh Jackson, Trevor Ariza Deandre Ayton

Clippers - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Avery Bradley, Danilo Gallinari, Tobias Harris, Marcin Gortat

  • How will Booker handle the constant on-ball pressure from the likes of Gilgeous-Alexander, Bradley, and Patrick Beverley? Update: Guess he won’t because he’s now out with a toe injury.
  • An intriguing wing battle between Ariza and Warren versus Gallinari and Harris. Update: Warren is also questionable
  • Ayton has a mismatch against Gortat. Will he take advantage and be fed early and often?
  • Also, this is the first time we get to see Bridges go up against Gilgeous-Alexander. The Suns’ front office was split in June between trading up for Gilgeous-Alexander or Bridges. Let’s see how both of these rookies fare on Wednesday night.

Those were my quick keys and matchups to watch for. Let’s keep the conversation going in the comments section below, Bright Side readers.
