What happened to Isaiah Canaan was tragic and I’m sure all Suns fans wish him a speedy and full recovery. But with him out for the rest of the season, the Suns needed to add some depth at point guard and they found it near home in the NAZ Suns’ Josh Gray.
Expect Suns to sign Josh Gray to 10-day contract tomorrow

The 6’1”, 180 lb LSU product has averaged 17.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.3 steals with the NAZ this season over 31 games including 14 starts. Josh had an especially good month in January and was named the NBA’s G League Player of the Week for his play the first week of the month.
It was a great January for @ThatsJoshGray

Most steals in the @nbagleague (28)
7th highest scoring average (22.7)
Only player to average 22 pts shooting 50 FG%, 40 3PTFG%

Three point shooting is likely the way that Gray could have an impact on a Suns’ squad that is woefully short in that area. He’s been making 42.1% of his threes in Prescott Valley on 5.7 attempts per game.
Josh could be in uniform for the the Suns’ home game against the Utah Jazz game Friday night. He will probably only get minutes as a third point guard as Jay Triano will likely continue using Devin Booker as the team’s primary point guard with Tyler Ulis as the main backup.
