Suns can move one step closer to history with loss at New Orleans

It’s not good history. It’s very, very bad history.

NBA: Los Angeles Clippers at Phoenix Suns Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Season number 50 for your Phoenix Suns has been filled with historic lows for the once proud franchise. As the team provides mostly unwatchable basketball during the second half of the 2017-18 NBA season, they may not yet be done rewriting the franchise record book for futility.

Two games remain on the February schedule for Phoenix. First up is a road date with the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night. Wednesday night the Suns get the Grizzlies in Memphis. If they manage to drop both of those, it will be the first winless month in which they’ve played at least five games in Suns history.

The pair of losses would put the Phoenix losing streak at 11. They last won an NBA game January 31st when they bested the Dallas Mavericks 102-88.

What does Vegas think of the Suns’ chances? Monday morning if you look hard enough you can find Phoenix at +300 on the money line. That means they don’t think they’ll win. Pelicans are favored by around 7.5.

Tip is scheduled for 5p where I live. History here we come.
