I sincerely hope this doesn’t give you the buyer’s remorse.
Before the 2017-18 NBA season got underway, it was reported that the priciest ticket for fans would be the Cleveland Cavaliers visiting the Boston Celtics on opening night. Those tickets were going for an average of $1,620 as of the last week in August.
Not far behind was tonight’s matchup. A ticket to see the Dallas Mavericks host the Phoenix Suns was running $1,357. That’s changed.
Many tickets on Stubhub are going for less than a ten-dollar bill, that’s after fees. In fact, save for one maniac who’s charging $2,619 each for VIP tickets, there’s nothing else that hits four digits.
The possibility that this game could be the last of Dirk Nowitzki’s spectacular career is likely what drove those lofty numbers. Attendees will not see Dirk, whose season ended last week thanks to ankle surgery. He’s yet to reveal if he will return for a 21st season.
In case you’re one of the lucky few who locked in tickets last summer, be advised:
