Ever wanted to see Deandre Ayton in a jumbo-sized chicken suit dancing to SICKO MODE by Travis Scott?
Well, for those who ventured to Talking Stick Resort Arena on Saturday afternoon for the Suns’ open practice, that was the parting gift. It was the fourth annual Phoenix Suns Rookie Dance-Off.
Embarrassment was the name of the game, so of course there were costumes. We had Ayton the chicken, Mikal Bridges the minion, De’Anthony Melton as Pikachu, Elie Okobo as Scooby-Doo and George King as a banana.

Devin Booker hosted. His best quote: “Let’s see how they do it France,” as he introduced Okobo for his turn.
In the end, it was neither Okobo or Ayton who won. Instead, Bridges, who jumped right up to volunteer to go first and had his own little routine worked out for the fans and his fellow rookies, won the contest by way of crowd vote. He earned an uproarious cheer while the rest of the rookies got no more than a yell or two.
So Mikal Bridges is your 2018 Suns Rookie Dance Champion.
