Could we/should we trade for John Wall?

Could we?

Literally no idea what Washington would want for him.

Is he available? Probably not.

Are there rumors about him affecting team chemistry? Seems like.

Are they kind of stocking up at his position? Probably depends on how you feel about Ty Lawson and Austin Rivers.

Would he be open to playing here? He's been public about trying to get 2 stars besides himself (including Beal) in WAS. Does he want to be part of a big 3 with Booker & Ayton? Maaaybe? Booker & Ayton haven't proven anything, but they have all the appearance of 2 young stars in the making.

Wait, could we? His contract is actually tradeable this year. It's next year when that insane extension kicks in.

Should we?

What would that look like? Who knows? I think Anderson + Melton + Miluakee 1st + protected Phoenix 1st could get us in the ballpark. Gives the Wizards a pair of picks + a young analytics-endorsed PG who could step in for Wall in short order.

How bad is his contract? I assumed the numbers were a misprint in the first website until I verified it with a second.

Wait, why would we do it? To get an all-star. Nobody else seems interested in signing here.

So, that would be the team then, right? Pretty much. Wall + Booker + TJ + Ariza (this year) + Ayton with Shaq/Okobo + Reed/Daniels + JJ + Bridges + Bender/Holmes off the bench. We'd be pretty limited in future moves, so we'd have to be pretty confident of the core we have in place.

I think I would do it. If we ever were to get 3 all-stars they're going to be expensive.
