Open Thread: Phoenix Suns (10-33) vs. Denver Nuggets (28-12)

Will the Suns notch a win in this season series?

NBA: Phoenix Suns at Denver Nuggets Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

Probable starters:

Suns - De’Anthony Melton, Josh Jackson, Mikal Bridges, T.J. Warren, Deandre Ayton

Nuggets - Jamal Murray, Malik Beasley, Torrey Craig, Paul Millsap, Nikola Jokic

  • Will Ayton have his way once more against Jokic? The last time these two faced off, Ayton went for a career-high 33 points with 24 of those coming in the second quarter alone. Will Jokic, an MVP candidate, respond with fury? Should be an interesting one-on-one battle to follow along with.
  • With no Devin Booker, will Jackson continue to be the Suns’ valuable spark plug? Jackson has played way more smarter over the past few weeks as he’s seemingly turning the corner after New Years.
  • Kelly Oubre Jr. is my x-factor to a Suns win. His infectious energy and swagger has helped this young team out immensely. If he can catch fire off the bench as Phoenix’s sixth man, they could keep this close even without Booker.
