I am humbled and honored to know all of you. Thank you so much for making Bright Side Night such a big success again this year!
On Tuesday night, January 8, we will send more than 3,300 underprivileged kids to the Suns game against the exciting Sacramento Kings.
All the tickets are funded on donations for 2,300 tickets by Bright Side readers plus ticket-matching on the last 1,000 donations from the Phoenix Suns themselves.
3,300 kids!!
That’s 7,400 kids in the past four years that our little blog has sent to a game — 800 in year one. 1,200 in year two. 2,100 last year and now 3,300 this year.
When I was first inspired to do this by blazersedge.com, who have been doing this for a decade now, I never envisioned reaching more than 3,000 in a single game. My cockles are warmed at the thought of how much y’all stepped up.
THANK YOU!
I can’t wait to see all the kids get there early for court side access to watch Suns and Kings players shoot around. They get all the way down to the lowest bleacher seats to see the court and these NBA stars close up. Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton will surely be shooting around during that time, among others.
Some of the biggest donors get to join us for an exclusive Q and A with co-GM James Jones in the Phoenix Mercury locker room before the game starts (be there at 5:30 if you’re one of them) and ending with a post-game shoot around on the main floor with some of the kids.
During the game, the Suns are planning to reward them with a Bright Side Night t-shirt toss, spotlights, overhead announcements and attention from the Suns dancers and/or Solar Squad. They even get to take pictures with the Gorilla during the game too!
THANK YOU
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Bright Siders. Whether you donated 1 ticket or over a hundred tickets, I thank you all the same. You’ve given these kids an experience of a lifetime, and I am so glad to know you.
