New, comments

The Suns looked good early but faded as the game wore on to fall to 9-11 for the season.

NBA: Phoenix Suns at Orlando Magic Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

Phoenix started out hot from three in the first quarter, hitting on 60% of their attempts which helped them take a 4-point lead into the second quarter. They cooled off quickly from three though and Orlando heated up in the second. The Suns were up by 10 at one point in the 2nd quarter but as their shooting faded, so did their lead. They heated back up in the second half and made 45.5% of their threes for the game but it was too little, too late by then.

Frank Kaminsky was the Suns’ leading scorer tonight - yes, you read that correctly - with 23 points. All but 2 of those points were in the first half and Frank was ineffective in the second. Devin Booker was held to 17 tonight and Kelly Oubre Jr. only had 8 points. Ricky Rubio had 9 assists but only 4 points and Dario Saric lead the Suns in rebounding with 6 while adding 10 points.

The Suns were badly out rebounded by the Magic, 45-29. You can’t win games losing the battle of the boards that badly.

Aaron Gordon was Orlando’s top scorer with 32. Khem Birch led them in rebounding with 9. The Magic were very hot from three tonight hitting 56% of their attempts.
