Phoenix started out hot from three in the first quarter, hitting on 60% of their attempts which helped them take a 4-point lead into the second quarter. They cooled off quickly from three though and Orlando heated up in the second. The Suns were up by 10 at one point in the 2nd quarter but as their shooting faded, so did their lead. They heated back up in the second half and made 45.5% of their threes for the game but it was too little, too late by then.
Frank Kaminsky was the Suns’ leading scorer tonight - yes, you read that correctly - with 23 points. All but 2 of those points were in the first half and Frank was ineffective in the second. Devin Booker was held to 17 tonight and Kelly Oubre Jr. only had 8 points. Ricky Rubio had 9 assists but only 4 points and Dario Saric lead the Suns in rebounding with 6 while adding 10 points.
The Suns were badly out rebounded by the Magic, 45-29. You can’t win games losing the battle of the boards that badly.
Aaron Gordon was Orlando’s top scorer with 32. Khem Birch led them in rebounding with 9. The Magic were very hot from three tonight hitting 56% of their attempts.
1st Quarter
Suns win the tip and Oubre scores.

Frank hits his first 3-point attempt!
Magic up 8-7 as Dario goes to the line and hits 2 FTs. Still trading baskets and Kaminsky hits another three to put the Suns up 16-13 as time is called at 7:19. Frank now has 8 points early.
Phoenix already has 3 team fouls.
Frank now has 10 as the Suns go up 20-14. Booker just hit the court hard but is back up and scores over Gordon! Suns up 22-14.
Bad pass turnover but the Magic give it back. Jerome and Bridges in off the bench.
Ross hits a three for the Magic and gets fouled. 4-point play. Suns up only 22-20 after a 6-point mini-run by Orlando. Timeout called by Williams with 2:53 left in the quarter.
Frank with another three! The Magic get one the old fashion way on the other end. Cam Johnson get a trey! Magic answer with a two.
Ty Jerome with his first NBA three pointer! A steal, a fast break and Bridge gets a two and a foul! Make the FT and the Suns are suddenly up 34-25.
Diallo hits a trey! The Suns are hot from behind the line tonight but the Magic get a steal and score at the buzzer on a fast break.
Suns lead 37-31 at the end of the 1st.
The Suns hit 6 of 10 from three in the first quarter. Kaminsky leads the Suns with 13 points.
2nd Quarter
The Magic have made up some ground early in this quarter and cut the Suns lead to 41-39 with 9:20 to play in the half.
The Magic take the lead as Augustine hits a three and gets fouled. Another 4-point play for Orlando and they take a 43-41 lead.
Trading baskets again and the Suns finally take back the lead 48-47 at 6:18.
Orlando has gone on another run to go up 58-50 with 4:11 left in the quarter.
The Suns three point shooting has cooled off this quarter.
Rubio ends the bleeding with a two, get a stop on the other end and Frank gets 2 more after several Suns misses and offensive rebounds. Orlando now leads 58-54.
Orlando has pulled ahead 63-58 with 33 seconds to go.
Magic lead 65-58 at the half.
At the Half
The Suns were hot from three in the first quarter but missed all 9 of their attempts in the 2nd. They are at 31.6% from three at the half. The Magic are shooting 46.2% from three.
Frank Kaminsky leads the Suns with 21 points (!) and has 3 rebounds and 3 assists. No other Suns player is in double figures. Booker is second in scoring with 8.
Aaron Gordon leads the Magic with 12 points.
The Suns are losing the rebounding battle 17-25.
3rd Quarter
Book hits a three to start the 3rd! Hopefully they will all start hitting from three again.
The Magic are now up 72-61 after several Phoenix misses and two treys by Gordon.
Some sloppy play by the Suns and Orlando is now up 76-62 as Monty calls much needed timeout at 8:50. The Magic have out scored the Suns 11-4 so far.
Suns missing a lot of shots but have made enough to not let Orlando stretch their lead. Magic up 86-74 at 5:25.
91-79 but the Suns are finally starting to hit their shots and play some better defense.
Booker gets to the line for his first FTs of the night. He hits one of two. 91-80 Magic lead with 3:17 left in the quarter. Oubre picks up foul number four and heads to the bench.
Foul call on Booker is overturned. Still Orlando ball though.
Bridges fouls Ross on a three point attempt. It’s the 4th time the Suns have fouled on a three attempt tonight. Ross makes all three and the Magic are up 94-80.
The Magic are now up 98-81 with 1:36 to go in the third quarter. It’s not looking good for the Suns.
The Magic are pouring it on now and are up 103-83.
Cam Johnson hits a trey at the end and the quarter ends with the Magic leading 103-86.
4th Quarter
Suns start out the quarter with a turnover. Not good. All of the Suns’ starters are on the bench and Orlando extends their lead to 106-86.
The Suns’ starters have stayed on the bench and the Magic are up 116-96 now with 7:04 minutes remaining.
The Suns have conceded this game.
