It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from LaVar Ball since the Los Angeles Lakers signed LeBron James. No longer — Lonzo Ball’s father is back and louder than ever about where he wants his son to play.
Ball wants Lonzo to be a member of the Phoenix Suns should the second-year point guard be included in a package for Anthony Davis.
LaVar Ball tells ESPN that if Lonzo Ball is traded, he wants his son to go to Phoenix: “We want to be in LA. But if he’s traded, I don’t want Lonzo in New Orleans. Phoenix is the best fit for him. And I am going to speak it into existence.”

The Suns have yet to fill the void at point guard left by Eric Bledsoe over 15 months ago, so is Ball about to be the answer? Despite Ball still being a member of the Lakers for the time being, his camp clearly wants Phoenix to get involved in the Davis trade for him.
As I wrote last week, I believe Lonzo Ball would be a great fit next to Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton from an on-court standpoint. Ball is the ideal facilitator and defender you need between the Suns’ two young pillars.
With LaVar Ball back trying to steer his son to Phoenix, we’ll keep you up to date on BSOTS with comments sure to come at tonight’s game versus the Houston Rockets.
