We’re back! After a brief All-Star break of our own, we are back to satisfy your cravings with a new Suns Solar Panel!
For the first time in Devin Booker’s career, the Phoenix Suns are going to be playing meaningful basketball games after the All-Star break.
Yes, I realize they are 6 games back of the 8th seed with only 26 to go, but that is STILL in striking distance and the current placeholders of that 8th seed have just lost two straight and have the league’s toughest season-finishing schedule.
And the Suns are now the healthiest they’ve been all season. Can they find momentum before the distance is insurmountable?
Or, can they at least finish with a win total in the 30s for the first time in Booker’s career, with a core of a 23-year old All-Star shooting guard and potential All-Star 21-year old center in Deandre Ayton and the league’s youngest overall roster?
These games matter. The Suns need to play with purpose the rest of the season.
What’s also going to be new for Devin Booker and his youngest teammates is that their opponents are going to be dialed in each night to beat a solid Suns team, rather than coasting against a tanking team. The feel, the vibe will be different each night.
- What do we want to see in the final 26 games from this team?
- Can someone, anyone, wrestle that backup point guard spot for themselves?
- Can someone, anyone, making threes consistently?
- Can Deandre Ayton continue his rise as a defender and all-around positive impact player?
Tim, Dave and Espo discuss those and other questions about the Suns in the weekly Suns Solar Panel. Plus, Tim’s stat of the week (how good IS Ricky Rubio anyway?), Nate Duncan’s latest tough-to-defend take, and more!
We also take your listener questions and share your comments in real time from the YouTube chat!
