Locked On Suns Thursday: Another loss for Phoenix as Kennard deal reaches impasse, trade calls come in for Oubre

After the Suns’ loss in Detroit, we have trade deadline updates revolving around Luke Kennard and Kelly Oubre Jr.

With another loss in Detroit, the Phoenix Suns are now 20-31 and six games back of the No. 8 seed. What were the biggest takeaways from the Suns’ seventh loss in their last nine games?

As playoff hopes dwindle, trade rumors are heating up. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Phoenix and Detroit are at an impasse on a trade for combo guard Luke Kennard. Protections on a future first-round draft pick seem to be the sticking point.

Meanwhile, a surprising name popped up as a possible trade candidate: None other than Suns starting small forward Kelly Oubre Jr. was mentioned by The New York Times’ Marc Stein in a report Wednesday afternoon which said the Suns are fielding trade calls on Oubre. What does this mean for Oubre’s long-term future in the Valley?
