Devin Booker and the curse of six threes

Why can’t Devin Booker make 7 threes in one game? When will it happen?

Suns fans by now have probably memorized what Devin Booker’s career-high is for three-pointers made in a single game. For those that somehow aren’t aware: it’s 6. He’s done it 12 times over the course of his career. Twelve!

While from a percentage perspective he isn’t an elite three point shooter by any means, for someone that has his shooting stroke and microwave ability it is truly a mystery as to how he hasn’t broken through yet. Even in his 70-point game he only made 4 threes.

Jevon Carter has made 8 threes in one game. As a rookie off the deep bench for Memphis. Aron Baynes made 9 this season, against Portland. So why can’t the three point contest record-setter get past this odd feat?
