NBA Draft Combine participant list announced, minus several key names

Currently holding the tenth pick, the Suns can’t be happy with who’s missing from the combine.

Shams Charania recently tweeted out the list of participants for the NBA Draft Combine.

Now, we knew there would be players that wouldn’t be included. There are even more reasons why this year than usual and understandably so.

However, the list is a bit of a bummer. The Phoenix Suns have the tenth pick in the draft at the moment and the following prospects will not take part.

  • Anthony Edwards
  • James Wiseman
  • Obi Toppin
  • Onyeka Okongwu
  • Devin Vassell
  • Aaron Nesmith
  • Patrick Williams
  • Cole Anthony
  • Tyrese Maxey
  • Saddiq Bey

Edwards will likely be gone before the Suns are up and he and Wiseman are arguably not good fits with Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton. The rest of these guys though are potentially all targets for Phoenix.

We’ve heard a lot about Toppin and Vassell and it seems like those two are high up on the list, at least if fans have any say in it. Okongwu could be a solid big to add to the front court and a guy that could bring out more physicality in Ayton. Nesmith and Saddiq are both very good shooters which is a skill James Jones has shown to love. Williams is intriguing as a combo forward and two way player. Anthony and Maxey could be good combo guards off the bench with a chance to eventually start.

Well, the decision of where to begin just became much easier for James Jones and the front office. However, the 2020 NBA Draft Combine just got much more difficult and limited. Let’s hope that the Suns are still able to get what they need on each and every player and are able to get a guy that will provide solid value to the team.

Eyes are on the playoffs next season and a wise selection will go a long way in accomplishing that goal.
