Breaking News: Devin Booker can score the basketball.
What? That’s not breaking?
Well, there is news associated with his ability to put the ball in the hoop. On Sunday evening, he ascended another spot in the rankings among the franchise’s all-time leading scorers.
Dropping 25 points on the Clippers, he leapfrogged former Suns legend Tom Chambers and is now 11th on the Suns’ all-time scoring list.
Devin is not just a walking bucket but also the face of the franchise and has led the purple and orange army to a 5-2 start to the season with the aid of Chris Paul and company. He’ll be the first to tell you that he doesn’t care as much about his scoring as he does whatever it takes to rack up Ws. However, he is also a fiery competitor and will continue to climb the points rankings, possibly all the way to the top.
Booker is now knocking on the top-ten door and up next is passing “Thunder Dan” Majerle’s 8,034 mark. Expect that record to be broken by the end of the month.
Here’s a quick guide for where our All-Star shooting guard is at the moment.
10 - Dan Majerle 8,034 points
11 - Devin Booker 7,831 points
12 - Tom Chambers 7,817 points
Suns fans, get hyped as Book continues to light the league on fire and climbs the all-time rankings of our Phoenix franchise. What makes it feel even better is his scoring from now on should be on winning teams in the Valley and no longer those depressing teams that we’ve had to painfully watch over the last decade.
Keep rising, Devin! Go Suns!
