We’re t-minus five or so weeks until Suns basketball is back. The team on Wednesday announced its preseason schedule, which begins Oct. 4 in a road game against the Kings.
Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. PT @ Sacramento Kings
Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. PT vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m. PT @ Los Angeles Lakers
Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. PT vs. Portland Trail Blazers
The Suns did everyone a favor and tweeted out a nice little graphic that you can share on your phone so you don’t forget!

My initial thought here is that the middle two games against the Lakers are nice. The Suns will get a shot at home to duel LeBron, AD and Russ, then three entire days to work out and practice, and then another chance against the same team. That’s the type of routine that can make the preseason actually worthwhile, playing the same teams repeatedly as well as learning from mistakes, watching film, all that good stuff.
No matter if the preseason is useful for a team coming off the NBA Finals or not, it’s crazy to think that the start of the season is less than a month and a half away. We knew it was a shorter offseason, but this is just crazy.
