Booker, Team USA make final four in Tokyo Olympics

Team USA needs to win one more game to make the Gold/Silver medal game at the Olympics

Olympics: Basketball-Men Group A - USA-CZE Kareem Elgazzar-USA TODAY Sports

Newest (almost) Phoenix Suns center JaVale McGee did not see the floor against the smallish Spain national team, but Suns shooting guard Devin Booker started and had an all-around excellent game to help Team USA advance to the Medal Bracket in the Tokyo Olympics with a 95-81 win over Spain.

Booker had a solid all-around line even if he did not shoot well. Book tallied just 9 points on 13 shots, but led Team USA in rebounds (9), assists (5) and steals (3) while committing no turnovers.

“Book is an all around player who’s only getting better,” Kevin Durant said after the game. “He’s a 24 year-old who handles himself like a 36 year-old vet. He didn’t shoot the ball well tonight but he’s one of those players who can affect the game in every single facet.”

Kevin Durant led Team USA in scoring with 29 points to offset former Suns guard Ricky Rubio’s crazy good 38 points for Spain.

Team USA will now face the winner of Australia vs. Argentina in the first medal-round game. The other side of the bracket contains Slovenia and the winner of France vs. Italy.

If Team USA wins their next game they will fight for Gold or Silver. If they lose, they fight for Bronze or nothing.
