After winning the Western Conference Championship and coming up short in the Finals, Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker finally gets to smile as the final buzzer sounds.
Team USA basketball won the Gold Medal at the Tokyo Olympics on Fright night with an 87-82 win over France.
Kevin Durant led Team USA with 29 points. Booker focused on defense and moving the ball, only scoring 2 points in the Gold Medal game after draining 20 against Australia in the game prior. Jayson Tatum scored 19 off the bench, and Jrue Holiday and Damian Lillard each scored 11.
This is Durant’s third Gold Medal for Team USA. He is now the top US scorer in Olympic history.
By the way, here’s a fun stat: Including the Olympics, Booker has won more games in the 367 days than any other NBA player in the league. Probably, the world (but I haven’t verified that one).
More to come later tonight!
