Media Day was yesterday and Kellan Olson shared via social media what numbers each Phoenix Sun will be wearing this season.

11 of the 16 players on our “new” roster were on the team last season. They will all be wearing the same number they were before.
At least, with the exception of Devin Booker, who decided to give his #1 to Chandler Hutchison and will be switching to #24 in memory of Kobe Bryant (RIP Black Mamba) as he fully accepts the responsibility to “Be Legendary”.
No? Yeah, you caught me. I’m just kidding. Of course, Book will stay #1 which is fitting because he’s still the face of the franchise.
For the newcomers, all of them will be wearing a different number than they did for the team they were on last season. A couple will take over for those that went to other teams.
Chasson Randle will be wearing #4. Last season, that belonged to Jevon Carter but he’s on the Nets now.
Elfrid Payton will be wearing #2 which was Langston Galloway’s number, who is now on a training camp deal with the Warriors. An interesting note is that Elf will be back in the same digit as he donned his first stay with the Suns.
Chandler Hutchison will be wearing #35 which was last worn on the Suns by Dragan Bender.
Landry Shamet will be wearing #14 which was last worn on the Suns by Cheick Diallo but a perhaps more familiar face in that digit for most fans is Gerald Green.
JaVale McGee will be wearing #00 which was worn by only one Sun in franchise history and that’s Tony Delk. Maybe JaVale will surprise us all and go off for 53 points one night like he did.
Let’s go Suns!
